False Christs and False Prophets

History is littered with would-be "Messiahs", some self-proclaimed, others named so by their sycophants, and while this syndrome is principally found in monotheistic religions, it is not limited to them. However, we can confidently say that most of these pretenders profit by the Old Testament peculiar theme of a "fothcoming Messiah". Before and after the true Messiah (Jesus) appeared on earth, there have been numerous contenders for this position till our times. In this page, I have selected the most prominent contemporary liars of the hour (AD 2000 and on)
Must be said that most of these guys are outright ridiculous, nonetheless with their charisma they are able to ensnare both simple, naive (and biblically ignorant) people, and highly educated professionals (doctors, lawyers, teachers etc) which by all estimation, in virtue of their intellect, should be immune to their blatant, absurd claims.

This guy was really confused. He claimed to be Christ and the Antichrist at the same time. Had his followers tattoo 666 on their bodies as he himself had done. He got sick and died, while the ministry he had founded hid the news, for fear of losing offerings $$$. Wow, some people have no shame.

Apollo Carreón Quiboloy is the founder and leader of the Philippines-based Restorationist church called the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
He has made claims that he is "The Appointed Son of God" and as well as being "The Owner of the Universe".
